Decorative Cedar Products

Cedar shingles were a common roofing material at the turn of the century. They were also widely used as a siding material, often on the upper stories, dormers, gable ends and mansard walls on residences.

Coastal areas of North America have shingles as cladding and numerous examples of decorative shingles can be seen.

There are also many examples of decorative shingles used on churches in Canada's maritime provinces.

There has been a resurgence of decorative shingling in the last two decades and many new housing projects include small decorated areas on dormer walls or gable ends.
